1st Way:
1. Goto Start>Run
and then type Prefetch
2. Delete all the Files in this folder frequently.
2nd Way:
1. Goto Start>Run
and type Regedit.
2. Now goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > Desktop
3. Look for MenuShowDelay
open it and change it from 400 to 0.
3rd Way:
1. Goto Start>Run
and type msconfig.
2. Now goto Startup and uncheck the programs (like messengers, managers, etc..) and
not the system programs.
3. When you finish, Press OK then EXIT WITHOUT RESTARTING.
4th Way: By removing Graphics that slows the PC
1. Goto Start > Control Panel > System
2. Goto Advanced > Performance Settings.
3. Now choose ADJUST FOR BEST PERFORMANCE (which changes your XP theme to Classic).
5th Way: By Speeding Up your Internet Connection.
1. Go to Start > Run and type system.ini
2. Now put this code all in one line

3. Now go to File > Save
4. Now restart your PC and feel the difference.

Some ways to make your pc run faster:
1. Disable any unneeded services by running Start -> Run -> services.msc (for more info visit www.blackviper.com)
2. Install CCleaner and clean your temp folders and manage startups from there
3. Always have antivirus or check downloaded files with Peid and with virustotal or any other online virus scan service. Do this especially when u download torrents. I recommend Avira coz its free and has good detection rates. Note that u need some malware or trojan programs to deal with some other viruses u may get like Spybot, syperantispyware, ad-aware, malwarebytes and more.
4. Always defragment your pc when u got some work or smting at least like once in a month or once in two weeks if u use your pc everyday.
5. Dont trust even your momma when it comes to pc security :). Coz anyone can send u a virus even intentionally.
5. Remove wallpaper and themes coz they eat some ram.
6. Use external firewall like Outpost or smthing else and disable windows firewall but only after you install external one.
maybie there are some other steps you should do but this is my list till now
